ClimbingLife Guides offers the highest quality experiential education in the backcountry skiing and climbing arts and sciences.  Eli Helmuth, the founder and head guide has worked full-time as a mountain educator since 1988.

A passion for learning and sharing ideas and techniques continues to be the motivation for this guide service.

Whether we are sharing ideas on packing with a beginner or refining the risk management techniques of an experienced alpinist, our focus on a positive learning environment and a professional methodology are key to your success.

Please join us this season in expanding your abilities and knowledge in the rock and mountain environments, here in Colorado and around the world.

  • Backcountry Skiing

Rocky Mountain National Park is one of the premier backcountry skiing destinations in North America due to the steep, cliff covered terrain that holds some of the deeper snow in the Front Range of Colorado along with dramatic descents on and around the Continental Divide.

Eli Helmuth is the first AMGA Certified Ski Guide to offer skiing seminars and backcountry outings in Rocky Mountain National Park and his 14 years of experience in this area make him the most knowledgeable partner in the region.

Enjoy a private outing, group training, or one of our amazing ski adventures to Alaska and around the world this year.

Please check-out our ski and snowboard offerings and join us in 2013 for a snow filled adventure!

  • Rock Climbing

The Front Range of Colorado is one of the world's top climbing destinations and ClimbingLife Guides has been active in this area for the last 15 years while training climbers of all ages and abilities.

Join us for a private training day, a group clinic, or a week-long seminar in the climbing arts.  We are the local experts and can assist you in developing your techniques and risk management abilities in some of the top climbing venues available on both granite and sandstone escarpments.

Our AMGA trained and certified Rock Guides are among the best in the country and we are active in guide education, route development, and anchor replacement as advocates of safer climbing and professional training services.

  • Mountaineering

We have been specializing in training alpine climbers of all ages and abilities since 1989 and still enjoy every alpine start as a chance to visit the magical night sky with crampons under foot.

Alaska and Ecuador are two of the best places to train in glaciated and high altitude mountaineering.  We offer a range of international expeditions which afford advanced training opportunities for experienced climbers.

Glacier travel and crevasse rescue are two of our technical specialties and we can assist individuals and groups in setting-up and practicing these systems in a short approach environment nearby Estes Park.

  • Mixed

Mixed climbing is the combination of rock and ice climbing in a mountain setting.  Climbers have used these techniques since they first set foot in the high mountains of the world in the 19th century and the art of climbing mixed, is still a very key part of the mountain climbing skills set.

Join us for a private training day, a group clinic, or a week-long seminar in the mixed climbing arts.  We are the local experts and can assist you in developing your techniques and risk management abilities in mixed terrain.

Our AMGA trained and certified Alpine Guides are among the best in the country and we are active in guide education, route development, and anchor replacement as advocates of safer climbing and professional training services.

  • Ice Climbing

Colorado and Wyoming are two of the hot spots for ice climbing in the western U.S. and we offer training camps in the adventurous Cody, Wyoming in preparation for multi-day ice climbing adventures in Alaska and South America.

Our AMGA Certified Alpine Guides are top-notch ice climbers and coaches in this frozen medium.  We look forward to sharpening our tools for trips ranging from Peru to Bolivia to Alaska.

Join us for an icy adventure this year in a number of different mountain landscapes across the planet.
